Lee Lokey, MD

Lee Lokey, MD, is the senior medical director at prIME Oncology, where he functions as the chief advisor for the organization’s clinical division. An area of special interest for him is expanding case-based teaching around the world.

Dr Lokey received his MD in 1970 from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill). His internship and residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in medical oncology and hematology were completed in the Emory University Hospital System in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr Lokey then spent two years in a staff appointment (US Navy) in the division of hematology/oncology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1976, he joined the Georgia Oncology Hematology Clinic (currently Georgia Cancer Specialists) in Atlanta, Georgia, where he conducted a private practice of medical oncology and served as a managing partner for his group practice that ultimately grew to be the largest private oncology practice in the southeastern United States. Dr Lokey has served as chairman of the Georgia Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing education to patients with cancer and healthcare professionals in oncology from 1976-2000.

In addition to his clinical work, he is an active member of several medical professional societies including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Society of Medical Oncology, and the European Society of Hematology. He has been published in many peer-reviewed journals.
